Potty training is an inevitable part of being a parent, and that means it’s something you have to live with no matter how messy it can be. And as most moms know, that can be pretty messy. If you’re already sick of changing poopy diapers, you’re probably not going to enjoy potty training, but it does mean that you’ll eventually get to leave messy diapers behind. While messes are just a natural part of potty training, they don’t have to take over. Armed with baby wash and some other new baby essentials, you can easily tackle potty training messes!

When children are learning anything new, there are bound to be mishaps along the way, and potty training is no different. Even when children seem to have mastered the concept, there can still be uh-oh moments and some accidents to clean up. One of the best things you can do to make your life easier during potty training is make sure you keep all the necessary clean-up products close at hand. Some things you might want to keep in the bathroom near to your baby’s training toilet include:

  • Baby wash
  • Soft cloths
  • Clorox wipes
  • Anti-bacterial soap
  • Other household cleaners

Potty training accidents can cause a mess in your home, but they can also leave you with a dirty baby. If you keep some baby wash on hand when you’re teaching your little one how to use the potty, you’ll have easy access to it if baby needs to be cleaned up quickly after an accident. If the mess you’re dealing with has ended up mostly on the training toilet or on the floor of your bathroom, then you’ll want to rely more on your other products, such as Clorox wipes or other types of household cleaners. Just make sure that you keep baby away when you’re using anything that has chemicals in it. Your little one could easily end up swallowing or inhaling these things, and you don’t want to have a sick baby on your hands.

Always Keep Your Cool

It can be difficult to remain calm when it seems like you’re always having to clean up pee or poo from a potty training accident, but it’s important that you never lose your cool when you’re potty training your little one. Even if these accidents seem like defiance on your infant’s part, you should never chastise your baby for making a potty training mistake. If you handle the situation with gentleness and care, you’ll have a lot more control over it, and you may not have to rely on baby wash to clean up your little stinker all that often.
