As a new parent, you’re bound to be full of love for your baby, but that doesn’t mean that building a bond with your infant won’t take some work. You’re going to need to make time to snuggle with your baby and touch him or her as much as possible, as this is the best way to communicate your love. From massages with baby oil to snuggling before bed, there are lots of great ways that you can bond with your infant.

Make Together Time

One of the first steps to strengthening the bond with your baby is getting some alone time with your little one. After your infant arrives, there are likely to be a host of visitors in and out of your home, and it can be hard to get a spare moment with your little one. It’s important, though, for you to make time to spend with your child. You don’t need to plan anything special. You can simply hold your baby’s tiny hand and talk to him or her, or you can caress your baby’s cheeks and sing songs. Just as long as you are touching, you’ll be able to increase the bond with your infant.

One of the things that you can do during your together time is give your child a massage. This is something that lots of new parents rely on when they’re trying to get to know their infants. A baby massage with baby oil is also a great way to calm down babies that are fussy. If your little one has had a long, touch day, having a massage with baby oil can be just what he or she needs to calm down. Your baby is sure to feel loved when you’re giving him or her a tender massage with baby oil.

Enjoy Baby Bath Time

Giving baby a bath is another step in increasing the bond between you and your infant. Although learning how to do this properly can be stressful for you, it will be well worth it in the end. Bath time is actually one of the few times that you may be able to be alone with your infant, so you should enjoy it as much as you can. When your child is little, you’ll need to make sure that you hold on to him or her at all times during the bath, and this will make your little one feel protected. When your baby sees how much you care, it will make your bond even stronger. You can even do your massage with baby oil once your bath is complete, if you want to relax your child even more.

Cuddle Before Bed

Another step in enhancing the bond between you and baby is spending some time cuddling. Before you put your child in his or her crib at night, it’s a great idea to spend some time snuggling with him or her in bed. Letting your child feel your warmth will ensure that he or she feels safe, loved, and protected.
