Giving your child a bath is something that every parent will need to learn how to do. While you may have visions of a fussy, crying infant who doesn’t like the activity, the truth is that it can be simple and easy when you have the right tools for the job. With the right baby wash and other items, you can turn the time into something fun for both you and your angel.

Preparing the Essential Items
Once you’ve started giving your child a bath, you won’t be able to step away and get any of the items you need. If you do so, you’ll have to take them with you because it’s unsafe to leave a little one unattended in the tub. As such, you should prepare thoroughly before you bathe your bundle of joy. Make sure that you bring the following items:
  • Baby wash
  • Baby shampoo
  • A small towel
  • Bath toys
  • Baby bath mat
  • Baby lotion
  • A cup for rinsing
  • A soft washcloth
  • Diapers and wipes
  • An extra set of clothes
When you’re preparing your child, it’s important to bring the items that you’ll need directly afterwards. You don’t want your infant to get cold, so you’ll need to have the diapers and extra clothes ready and waiting for your little one.
Tips for Safe Tub Time
While having the right  items is important for a successful bath, it’s also important for you to practice safety as much as possible. When you’re dealing with a small infant , you’ll need to keep one hand on your infant at all times to support him or her. In addition, you’ll want to be sure that you choose items that are safe for your little one. Choose a baby wash that is gentle and will not harm your little one even if it gets in his or her eyes. Finally, be sure to choose the right toys that will not pose any choking risks.
After Bath Care
It’s important that you also take great care of your child immediately after washing them. Preparing a soft towel to dry them off is important, as you don’t want your infant to get cold when he or she gets out of the tub. You’ll also want to take the opportunity to apply some baby lotion to your little one after tub time, as this will be the best time to lock in moisture for smooth skin. Another thing that you can do is hug them against you while you dry him or her off. This will make your child feel especially close to you.
